Cobh

Our first port of call on this cruise was Cobh (pronounced Cove) in Ireland.  The town really turned it on for the ship, celebrating Australia Day in Cobh, Aussie flags, Aussie music and even a barbie.   We left Cobh for most of the day driving through Cork and into the countryside to visit Blarney Castle where David climbed the castle and kissed the stone of course.   After Blarney we visited the beautiful seaside village of Kinsale where we had fish & chip for lunch (I am really over fish & chips).  Once back in Cobh we had an hour or so to play with so off to the pub for the obligatory pint of Murphy’s with a fiddler playing once a jolly swagman in the bar, a wonderful way to finish off our day in Cobh.
